The Big Picture

Okay, it's been fun, but the quarter's over, and you know what that means!

Okay, first on the agenda are the maquettes. Yes, maquettes as in plural. I made another one of myself as well. But first is Cassie's final, as I got her back from the display case today.

Okay, next is the maquette I made of myself. I made it small, and I actually did it for a Flash animation in my Interactive Design class. Maybe I'll get to show it if I ever get some web space.

Next, are concept designs I had to do for Star Wars, if it was set in Feudal China. I actually had alot of fun. I did one of Luke, but it's horrible and the drawing is currently in for repair. :) Also, a cookie to the first nerd who can name all of them. (fictional cookie, it does not exist.)

This is the background I made for the same project. For all of you kids back home in WMS, and WHS, I left in the pencils I made outside of the picture. I'm human just like anyone else, and I get bored like everyone too. (they're actually notes to myself, mostly about reference and lighting.)

This is my first project, I just had to do a self portrait. You see how I made it look all bad ass? Yeah, well I missed the memo that said I had to simplify it to an extreme, so it suffered a bit. My bad entirely.

Another fictional cookie to the person who can say what show these four are from.

And, last but not least, my Drawing for Animation and Storyboarding final. I had to make a background, (it could be anything) and pencil plus ink it using animation terms such as pans. This is a 3 pan. In a nutshell, that means it'll take three pages of animation paper to lay out. Also, once the inks were finished I had to add...

Characters! A scene ain't complete until the characters are there! Needed at least tweleve figures, and they all needed to be doing something in the background. Also one thing I'd like to note which I think is a killer idea, in the very very back, there are two giant guard robots. I wanted to show them so much once I thought of it, but everything obstucts their view. (Just thought I'd get that out of the way.)

Okay, to anyone who's been payin attention to my gaming rants, I gots nuttin. As you can see, I've been busy which means, I ain't played no games in like, a month. Yeah, I'm sleepin a day straight after this.

Wait, one thing. Get that new Pokemon game for the DS. The more people I can fight, the better. That game'll be tight. I'll be getting the Diamond version so um... (If anyone would like to, you know... get the Pearl one and um... help me with my lack of pearl pokemon when the time comes, much appreciated.)

Anyway, I'm outtie,
-Kai

Busy

Busy... that sums it up pretty well.

These three are my sequential art anthology submissions. I pretty much had to find something, and use it for inspiration for this piece. It's the first work I've ever done for the anthology, and I'm really anxious. Wish me luck! Worked a LONG time on this.

This here is Cassie's turnaround the site finally let me put up. Now first, yes, I did take pictures of the finished maquette. Second, apparently the camera doesn't like taking pictures through glass. They came out all blurry. If you'd like to see the final, you'll just have to wait till I get it back.

This is the fantasy portion of the mural I have to design. I wanted a circular design, and you can see that here. This one is an extreme rough, I have alot to work on with this.
Okay, I'll finish with this. It's the art panel of the mural I have to paint. I simplified it down alot, and came to this. I like it, yet I need to move it over a bit to the right.

Yeah, I'm finally done with the brunt of my work, I can finally relax a lil. Goin to Megacon tomorrow, (Friday) And expectin ta get quite a few portfolio reviews and ta have lots of fun. (I NEED fun right about now.) This one is a bit larger than the small one I went to in Portland, so I'm a bit excited.

Also, a few words on some recent video games. Trauma Center is seriously hard. It gives a really hard challlenge. And, I beat it. Woot. Also, Final Fantasy XII is freakin long. It's nice and all, has a few nice new things, (Yer tryin new things Square... Good fer you!) but I don't really connect to any of the characters. I dunno if it's the lack of personality they have, or if Vaan just needs a shirt, (Both actually.) but it ain't my cup of tea. gotta beat it just so a friend won't get an edge over me game wise though.

Peace, Kyle (Cell) Provencal

Teh Maquette

This is my project fer the past couple weeks. I've obsessed over it much like I do with every project, so I might have overdone it, but enh. This is before I've glazed over it with terpinoid and baked it. I'm a lil scared to bake it after all I went through to make it.

The original turnaround is a bit big, so if I do post it up, it'll probably be on my Deviantart account.

EDIT: Also, she may seem a lil strange cause she ain't got her props in the picture. She's supposed to be holding a metal chain along with a toy machete I took from a G.I. Joe.

Jump Slash

A sketch I did of Cell jumpin an' about ta slash a dragon's head. Pretty tight in my opinion. I forgot exactly what spurred this, but I remember I did like, 3 sketches of his previously before I blew it up to a full page.

Figured I'd Start 'er Up!

A doodle of Cassie I did after I made a story about stars falling from the sky and burning people. It was pretty tight.
This is a sketch fanart of one of my all time fav games, Phantasy Star Online. Seriously, I used to be addicted in high school. Anyway, random doodle of Lime and a rappy just cause I needed sumthin cute ta look at.
